Covers Chromecast with Google TV, Sony Bravia Google TV, TCL Google TV, Hisense VIDAA with Google TV, Philips, and any other device running the Google TV interface. Two methods — both work.
Google TV runs on top of Android TV, but it has one extra layer of protection: Play Protect. This scans apps you install and can block StreamFire and SportsFire. The fix is simple — turn off Play Protect before you install. You have two options: use the Play Protect method (faster, no extra apps needed) or use Norofire the same way you would on FireStick.
This method works because Play Protect is what flags and blocks StreamFire and SportsFire on Google TV. Once it's off, you can install them directly without needing Norofire at all. You can re-enable Play Protect afterward if you want.
From the Google TV home screen, find and open the Google Play Store. On Chromecast, it's in the Apps section. On Sony/TCL/Hisense smart TVs, look in the home screen apps row.
In the Play Store, scroll right to find your account/profile icon (top right corner). Press it to open account options.
Select Play Protect from the menu. Then press the Settings gear icon (top right of the Play Protect screen).
Toggle off Scan apps with Play Protect. Google will warn you — that's normal. Confirm the action. Play Protect is now disabled.
Still in the Play Store, search for Downloader by AFTVnews and install it. Free app, orange icon.
Open Downloader, enter 2916527, and tap Go. Norofire downloads and installs automatically.
Open Norofire from your app list, grant permissions, and tap Install next to SportsFire or StreamFire. Done.
Once StreamFire or SportsFire is installed, you can re-enable Play Protect if you prefer. The installed apps won't be removed — Play Protect only blocks installations, not apps that are already running.
This method mirrors the FireStick process exactly. It's useful if you want Norofire to manage updates going forward, rather than having to reinstall manually each time.
Follow steps 1–4 from Method 1 above to disable Play Protect. This is still required even with this method, or Google TV will block the sideloaded APK.
Go to Settings → Apps → Special App Access → Install Unknown Apps → Downloader → Allow. On some Google TV devices the path is Settings → Device Preferences → Security → Unknown Sources.
Install Downloader from Google Play, open it, and enter 2916527. The Norofire APK downloads automatically.
Tap Install when Downloader prompts. Open Norofire, grant the permissions it asks for, then tap Install next to SportsFire or StreamFire.
If you have an old version of SportsFire or StreamFire already installed, uninstall it before using Norofire. Go to Settings → Apps → find the app → Uninstall.
The Play Protect method works perfectly on Chromecast. After disabling Play Protect, you can use the Downloader app (find it by searching in Google Play on the Chromecast) and enter code 2916527.
On Sony Bravia models (2021 and newer with Google TV), the Play Protect setting is in the same location. Some Sony models also show a "Developer mode" option under Settings → About → Build that you can enable as an alternative.
TCL and Hisense TVs with Google TV work the same way. Disable Play Protect, install Downloader from Google Play, enter 2916527, and install Norofire. These TVs typically don't need developer mode enabled separately.
